Week-in-and-week-out, all year long, The Salvation Army distributes food to individuals and families in need.
At The Salvation Army's main food pantry, the organization distributes between 60 and 75 full bags of groceries each weekday. When supplies of food run low, the only alternative is for The Salvation Army to purchase more food to re-stock the pantry shelves.
When companies, churches, schools, civic clubs and other groups conduct food drives for The Salvation Army, they provide an important solution to buying food items thereby allowing the Army to use the funds to help people in many other ways.
