The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary is comprised of outstanding women in the community who through their influence or activity further the work of The Salvation Army. The group, an extension of the Advisory Board, provides effective support for various programs throughout the year.
Members are recommended by the auxiliary's membership committee and approved by the executive committee. The Women's Auxiliary of the Tennessee Valley currently has over 30 members.
A major fundraising event sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary is the annual Purse Auction.
The 6th Annual Purse Auction was held on Sept. 17, 2009 at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. The net income of this special event was $23, 940.
