Chattanooga Area Command
The Salvation Army business and administrative offices in Chattanooga are located at 822 McCallie Avenue. Shelters and programs for the homeless, a residential school for the formerly homeless, and the disaster response unit are housed on this downtown campus. Assisting the Corp Community Centers, the Area Command also helps plan special events throughout the year.
Corps Community Centers
The Corps Community Centers are the heart of The Salvation Army, offering weekly worship services and Bible studies. They also open their doors to the community for after-school and summer programs for youth and for adult education and fellowship throughout the year.
Social Services Ministry
The Salvation Army Social Services Ministry helps individuals and families by providing
utility assistance, food and clothing vouchers, medication payment assistance and advocacy services and referrals.
Family Stores
The Salvation Army Family Stores offer emergency clothing, furniture and household items. They also sell ‘gently used’ merchandise at a reasonable price to the community. All proceeds go to support the many ministries of The Salvation Army in the local community.
Volunteers
The Salvation Army provides help and hope to persons who are in desperate need. Volunteers provide the manpower to better use resources, improve client care and expand services. Volunteering touches hearts, builds friendships and enriches lives.
