The Salvation Army Recognizes Benwood Foundation and Comcast at the East Lake Center Renovation Dedication
Chattanooga, TN – Monday, October 27 at 1:30 PM, The Salvation Army East Lake Center located at 2140 East 28th Street will host a Renovation Dedication. Thanks to a generous gift from the Benwood Foundation, the only public swimming pool in the East Lake Community was renovated significantly so it could continue to serve the at risk youth in the area. Generosity also came from Comcast as they chose The Salvation Army as their Comcast Cares Day project in 2008. Over 400 employees and volunteers from the company built a playground for the community, added lights to the outdoor courts and helped clean up the community center. Both the Benwood Foundation and Comcast will be recognized on Monday at the dedication.
"We are humbled by the generosity of our community," states Major Jim Lawrence, The Salvation Army Area Commander. "We could not provide the help and hope that we do to so many hurting youth and families without the support of folks like the Benwood Foundation and Comcast."
If you would like to support the services of The Salvation Army, monetary donations may be mailed to The Salvation Army, 800 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37403. For more information you can visit us on the web at www.CSArmy.org
