Mayor Ron Littlefield Unveils Chattanooga's First Salvation Army "Kettle Bug" Tonight!
Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Salvation Army has its first "Kettle Bug"- a red VW Bug with images of the Salvation Army kettle and those they serve thanks to this year's Honorary Christmas Chair, Mayor Ron Littlefield. The Mayor, along with The Salvation Army, will kick off the Chattanooga Salvation Army's Christmas Campaign inside Hamilton Place Mall, November 7, 2008, at 7:00 PM on the Comcast Stage on the lower level. It is at this kickoff that the Mayor will unveil the first ever Chattanooga "Kettle Bug!"
"It was an honor to be asked to partner with The Salvation Army as this year's Christmas Chair," states Mayor Ron Littlefield. "The Salvation Army has been a part of our community for many years providing invaluable services and support for many people and I am privileged to assist them." Major Jim Lawrence, Area Commander of The Salvation Army comments, "What a blessing it is to have the Mayor join us this Christmas Season, and the "Kettle Bug" is so amazingly creative!"
Angel Tree Partners Hamilton Place Mall, News 12, Comcast, KZ106, WGOW News Talk Radio, and J103 FM will be joining the Mayor in making the first donations to the Red Kettles.
The Salvation Army of Cleveland will kick off its Christmas Campaign on Monday, Nov. 10, at K-Mart inside Bradley Square Mall. The Kickoff program will begin at 12:00 Noon.
