Chattanooga, TN – For The Salvation Army, "Thanksgiving" is a tradition of "thanking" volunteers and "giving" warm meals to all who are in need. The Salvation Army has joined the Community Kitchen, the Union Gospel Mission, the Mayor's office, and other churches in the Unity in the Community – A Thanksgiving Day Celebration in its community wide feeding for the homeless and struggling families. They are expecting close to 2000 guests and volunteers at the First Tennessee Pavilion. Cooking will begin as early as 5:30 AM. Dinner will be served 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Shuttles will be picking up guests beginning at 10:30 from The Salvation Army McCallie Ave, Union Gospel Mission, Community Kitchen, Miller Park, Forrest Avenue United Methodist, The Salvation Army East Lake, and Love Fellowship Baptist.
The Salvation Army would also like to thank Southern Provision Co. for donating this year's turkey and the Acropolis for cooking them.
