Salvation Army Extends Angel Tree to Assist More Angels Than Last Year in Need of Christmas!
Chattanooga, TN – The Salvation Army is committed to providing Christmas for children and seniors in need. This year, there are more in need on The Salvation Army Angel Trees than ever before! The revised numbers show a total of 2702 children were placed on Angel Trees in Cleveland and Chattanooga, and 1327 children were placed on Angel Trees in Dalton. The Salvation Army is also assisting 825 seniors for a total of 4854 individuals receiving Christmas gifts from the 2008 Angel Tree Program. It is for this reason The Salvation Army has extended its Angel Tree program one more week to end on December 16! (Due to Dalton's distribution date, deadline remains December 7) "Last year we had to purchase gifts for 308 angels that were not adopted. With the need even greater this year we are asking the community to step up and help us provide Christmas for these Angels by adopting one today," states Major Beverly Lawrence of The Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army needs the community to be generous this last week and a half of the Angel Tree Program. While out shopping, stop by one of our Angel Trees located in all area malls and adopt a child in need today. Monetary donations can be placed in any of the red kettles, mailed into the offices at 800 McCallie Ave or can also be given on line at www.CSArmy.org or by calling 1-800-Sal-Army.
