Need Arrives Before Santa's Sleigh: Salvation Army Launches Assistance Programs
Chattanooga, TN – The Christmas Season is rapidly approaching and many local families are in need of material assistance. To meet this need, The Salvation Army has begun its Christmas outreach programs.
Families at or below the poverty line with children 12 years of age or younger are invited to register for our Angel Tree program. Through the generosity of our donors, the Angel Tree provides much needed clothing, toys and other crucial items to qualified participants. Registration will take place October 12th–14th and November 9th–13th from 9AM until 1PM at The Salvation Army located at 2140 East 28th Street. For more information including documentation required for registration, families in need should call 423-756-1023.
Volunteers are invited to join our ranks and assist our staff with the Angel Tree program as well as our other seasonal efforts. Volunteers may serve as bell ringers in order to raise money for our many ministries which meet the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of local residents. Additionally, volunteers may host Christmas parties for low income seniors or fill stockings with everyday essentials for local homeless. Changing a life is as easy as ringing a bell, throwing a party, or stuffing a stocking!
In addition to giving at the kettles, donations may be made online at www.CSArmy.org, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY or by mail to: The Salvation Army, 822 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37403. For additional information please call 423-756-1023.
