With Only Four Days Left to Ring Bells the Salvation Army Still Shy of Its Goal!
Chattanooga, TN – The Salvation Army rises to 93% of its $349,000 Red Kettle Goal! "To make our goal we will need approximately $7,000 each day," states Major Jim Lawrence, Salvation Army Area Commander. "With need so great, we were hoping to surpass our goal. Now we are hoping we can at least meet it!"
Money from the Red Kettles supports an array of Salvation Army services to our community. The Salvation Army provides Christmas assistance for those who would otherwise not receive anything under their trees, assisting 2769 children and seniors through the 2009 Angel Tree Program. The Salvation Army delivers Christmas gifts to all Nursing Home residents in our area and to all those incarcerated.
On Christmas Eve, The Salvation Army will feed area homeless a "Christmas Eve Brunch" at its Day Center for the Homeless located at 800 McCallie Ave at 10 AM. Money from the Red Kettles also helps offset the rising need in our Social Service offices as well.
Donations can be placed in any of the red kettles, mailed into the offices at 822 McCallie Ave or can also be given on line at www.CSArmy.org or by calling 1-800-Sal-Army.
