The Salvation Army Receives Another Very Generous Donation in The Red Kettle – 18 One Hundred Dollar Bills!
Chattanooga, TN – After an anonymous donor gave thirty-five one hundred dollar bills earlier this month, The Salvation Army received another large donation in the Wal-Mart Battlefield Parkway Red Kettle on December 22, 2009. Eighteen one hundred dollar bills were dropped into the kettle.
The Salvation Army is now at 97.36% of our goal of $349,000.00 thanks to this generous donation!
The Salvation Army staff came together to count the kettle money like they do every day, however, this time it was much different than any other day. Christopher George, a volunteer, found in his kettle several one hundred dollar bills! "How incredible that someone would give such a significant donation! This will go a long way to meet the need in our area," states Kimberly George, Salvation Army Director of Marketing and Development.
The Salvation Army Red Kettle donations go to help those in need of assistance during the holidays and into the New Year. This year's Red Kettle goal is $349,000.00 for the Chattanooga and Cleveland areas.
Donations are still needed in order to meet the need this Holiday Season. Donations can be made through the red kettles, on-line at www.CSArmy.org, or mailed to 822 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37403.
