Area Homeless Attend Salvation Army Men's Camp
Chattanooga, TN – The Salvation Army's homeless services program, the 614 Corps, will be taking 15 male shelter clients on a weekend retreat to Burkesville, Kentucky on May 21st through the 23rd. Clients will enjoy outdoor recreation, personal development classes and special guest speakers. Former professional football player Oscar Roan will share the gospel as the men develop the tools to live responsible, godly lives.
The 614 Corps of The Salvation Army is committed to providing holistic care for Chattanooga's homeless and low income population. In addition to providing shelter, food, toiletries and other material needs, the program engages its clients on the spiritual and emotional levels.
Caseworkers provide counseling, life skills classes, daily devotionals, and Sunday services. Recreation programs such as Sunday Night Karaoke give clients a safe and inviting atmosphere for fellowship, fun and personal growth.
The 614 Corps is located at 800 McCallie Avenue in downtown Chattanooga.
