Salvation Army Collects Donations for Nashville Flood Victims on Mother’s Day
Chattanooga, TN – The Salvation Army Chattanooga Area Command in partnership with News Channel 9, KZ106, Talk! 102.3, 107.9 The Duke, and the Chattanooga Market will collect donations this Sunday to benefit victims of the Nashville floods. The collection will take place from 11 AM until 4 PM at the Chattanooga Market located in the First Tennessee Pavilion at 1829 Carter Street in downtown Chattanooga.
Residents are encouraged to bring new hygiene, personal care and clean-up items. In particular, victims are in need of new socks, underwear, t-shirts, soap, shampoo, deodorant, dental supplies, feminine care products, toilet paper, mops, cleaning agents, trash bags and other household cleaning supplies.
The donation drive will resume Monday at Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores located in East Ridge, Cleveland and Ft. Oglethorpe. Donations will be accepted from 10 AM until 5 PM Monday through Wednesday of next week.
Monetary donations are also needed to support the recovery effort. Please visit www.csarmy.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY to donate. A $100 donation will feed a family of four for two days, provide two cases of drinking water and one household cleanup kit containing a broom, mop, bucket and other cleaning supplies.
