McCallie School Saves the Day for Salvation Army Summer Campers
Chattanooga, TN – Just a few days before eight local boys and girls were to depart for a week of fun at Camp Paradise Valley in Burkesville, Kentucky, The Salvation Army's shuttle was forced into the shop for repairs. Without transportation it looked as though summer camp would not happen…until…The McCallie School graciously provided a driver and van.
Thanks to McCallie's efforts, the children will depart as planned from The Salvation Army's Citadel Corps located at 1019 North Moore Road at 10 A.M. on Monday, July 19th.
Upon arrival at Camp Paradise Valley, the campers will experience the beautiful Kentucky countryside while hiking, swimming, boating and enjoying other outdoor recreation activities. Additionally, the campers will participate in church services and arts and crafts. For some of the children this will be their first camping experience!
The Salvation Army would like to thank The McCallie School and our community partners who gave support to these children and to the many more youth participating in recreation, scouting, music and art camps held throughout the summer each year in Chattanooga.
