Hot Meals For The Homeless – The Salvation Army Salutes The Mccallie Middle School
Chattanooga, TN – Two Sixth Grade classes of The McCallie Middle School prepared and served hot meals and sandwiches for the homeless who visited The Salvation Army's Day Center on McCallie Avenue this morning. The Salvation Army salutes these young men who are learning early the joy of serving others.
"Community service is a part of the McCallie educational experience because we believe in the value and reward of learning to serve others. While not a requirement, nearly all of our boys participate in one if not several projects each year. Many of these projects are initiated and led in some part, sometimes entirely, by the students themselves, and this is true in both the Middle and Upper schools," states Lynn Goss, McCallie Middle School Head.
