Many children have talent that will never be developed because their parents can't afford music lessons, or purchase instruments or art supplies for them. If cultivated, their talent could provide a springboard to a better, more fulfilling life.
The Salvation Army's School of Music & Performing Arts provides that opportunity at the Community Center on North Moore Road in Chattanooga. The school gives boys and girls instruction in music, choir, dance, theatre and art.
In addition to lessons, students receive free loaner equipment and free curriculum materials.
School of Music & Performing Arts semesters coincide with school semesters.
