As a Christian organization, The Salvation Army shares the wonder of God's love with those less fortunate every holiday season. Holidays provide a sense of joy and tradition. Even in hard times, encouraging holiday customs may provide a sense of relief and peace. Because of this, The Salvation Army strives to foster the comfort and cheer of holiday blessings while helping our neighbors meet their basic needs.
The "miracle" of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing. Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing and toys for families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic necessities like food and shelter. Volunteers distribute gifts to shut-ins in nursing homes, and shelters are open for holiday dinners. The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten.
