Chattanooga Salvation Army disaster relief teams serve today in Rhea County

Chattanooga, TN – Throughout the weekend, Salvation Army Officers and staff have coordinated its disaster relief teams to serve neighboring counties who experienced flooding. After receiving information from Emergency Management and The American Red Cross, Incident Commander, Major Mark Smith, activated a team of officers, staff and volunteers to serve in response to flooding in Spring City, TN. The Salvation Army served over 50 meals yesterday and 50 meals again today, handed out 192 bottles of water and dozens of rakes, shovels and flood kits.

“The Salvation Army feels it is a blessing to serve those in need and is able to do so by the generous donations of our community,” states Major Smith. “We still need your prayers and support as we move into Sequatchie County tomorrow.” The Salvation Army asks for your prayers for our neighbors who have experienced flooding.
